The Real Cuba
When you Google “the real cuba” one will find a mass amount of negativity on Cuba. And that bothers me.
I can go out today and take photographs, post them on the internet of how the poor live in Canada. We can post whatever we want. We can paint a pretty picture or a bad one. The choice is yours. You can travel to any large city in the world and find oppression, one does not have to look very far.
Many Cubans have left seeking a better life but have returned. Life is not always greener on the other side of the fence. Yes, many want the opportunity to make more money, the opportunity to leave the island but many do not. They have strong family ties that hold them close under all adversity. Castro may not be the best in the eyes of a foreigner but really what was Batista all about? I use a quote here from Daniel Paul: and perhaps one should pay attention.
Cuba: Although Baptista was a right-wing, barbarian dictator, the West gave him unconditional support because Cuba’s economy was a money-making machine for many rich Western citizens – including many with organized crime connections. Under Baptista, the average Cuban was illiterate, in ill health, and living in absolute poverty. Although in Castro’s Cuba, Cubans do not live in paradise, in comparison to what they had under Baptista, it’s paradise.
So when I say see the real Cuba, I ask you to seek friendship with a Cuban family and you will reach the people and they will be your friend for ever – amigos para siempre. Now that is worth more than any money can buy.

Was BATISTA not baptista, I hope you go first to school and late talk about CUBA
THANKS
Well my apologies …….. I was quoting. But thank you for the reminder!! I should of course pay more attention to detail, but I am sure everyone who read the post understood who I was referring to.
Of course one can take pictures only of the bad side. The problem is that, Cuban government won’t let people do it, and will try to promote the notion of a communist miracle. Specially with health care. But I wonder: if Cuba has such astounding health-care capabilities, despite of their limited resources, how come their formula wasn’t copied, reproduced all around the world?
Well, one could argue that it wouldn’t happen due to “capitalist forces”, but that applies more to countries like the USA, whereas in Brazil, for example, the president, who is almost 8 years in charge, has some disturbing ties with Castro, and yet, despite of that, and despite of having much more resources than Cuba, the health care in Brazil is deplorable (not evenly deplorable all over the country, but most of the time, far from ideal).
If the Cuban miracle in medicine is not a hoax, one could expect that they’d just give their “magic formula”, how to be able to provide free health care to all the countries population, plus a good amount of countries, and then countries like Brazil wouldn’t not only be able to provide top-quality health care to its own population, but maybe to a quarter of the world’s population.
But, far from that, the quality of health care in Brazil has been declining in recent years.
