The Blues of Returning from Vacation

Returning from Vacation

I am always very excited before any holiday that I take.  And I have never been disappointed with the choices made.

For the past 14 years, my best friend has been viisting Cuba on a regular basis for a break and has always raved about the people and the wonderful time she has had.  This time last year, I finally booked a trip to leave for Cayo Coco, Cuba to an all inclusive resort for a January break.  Well, I have just returned from my third trip and already planning my next one for this coming January.  You could say I am hooked!!

This trip we became friends with many people and their generosity exceeds any other culture that I have encountered.  It baffles the mind of most people who live in the “western” culture.  We should indeed take some valuable points from the people of Cuba.  Yes, all is not right and a lot of work needs to be done to help their economy.  They have though created a culture over the past 50 years that is totally unique.  That debate though I do not want to discuss today!

I know that Cuba will now always be my destination of choice.  The little money that I infuse into their economy through tourism goes a long way.  Anything you give is shared and they share back by showing you a good time with friendship.  Of course there are areas that one would not go but that is the same all over the world.  But you are safe in Cuba.

I have always admired Latin culture and the way people interact with each other.  To some it may be too forthright but we have in general, I feel become rather uptight and afraid to show our love for each other.

Now I am back.  I had an amazing trip.  I did not stop laughing but then I laugh a lot anyway!  I have wonderful memories and a great tan!!  I do though get the blues upon return and it takes me some time to adjust to a regular routine.  I just look at the calender and count the weeks before I go again!

Mucho gracias mis amigos!
