Buenos Dias mis amigos. Estudio todo dias mi Espanol!
One day, I will be able to converse freely ………. if I could immerse myself in the culture, I would be speaking fluent Spanish in no time at all!! Think I may work on that idea! In the meantime, I will contue with my studies and hopefully be able to speak with my friends in Cuba in January.
Again, if you are interested at all in learning this wonderful language, visit Marcus Santamaria at Synergy Spanish.
Hasta pronto

Learning Spanish
Well I took the plunge and purchased the course from Marus Santamaria at Synergy Spanish and I am immersing myself in his lessons. I am determined to converse un poco en Espanol when I return to Cuba in January. Trust me it is not that easy but Marcus does make it fun. He does not flood you with the “do’s & do not’s” of learning a new language.
When I am interested in doing something, no matter what, I have fun and Marcus makes learning Spanish very enjoyable and interesting. You get to learn the basics of conversation right away, rather than learning how to count to 100, the days of the week, the months of the year and parts of the body that are not even familiar to me in English let alone Spanish!!
For example you learn in your very first lesson: I want, I need, to eat, to see, to go, to speak and a variety of other words that you can add to make complete sentences.
So if you are interested in learning the second language of North America, I suggest you start now and get in touch with Marcus at Synergy Spanish – you will not regret the small price he asks.
Hasta Manana mis amigos, necesito estudiar!

Counting the Days, Weeks till my return to Cuba
When you want time to pass by quickly, why does the clock seem to stop?
Never watch a kettle boil, my grandmother used to say to me, because it will not! Sitting at your desk watching that big clock slowly tick away the seconds. That minute hand NEVER seems to move. Yet, if you are running just five minutes behind schedule, everything and anything will happen to you to prevent you from reaching your destination on time! Makes no sense does it?
So, here I sit on this dreary evening in November in Canada gazing at my pictures from my previous trips to Cuba and longing for time to jump ahead so I can once again be in the sun and with friends. Free in spirit with a constant smile. Now, of course I could be pre-occupied with the thought of my next holiday. Just like watching the kettle never boil!!
My god, what do I do?
Simple, occupy my mind with something else! Easier said than done. But I have. I have decided to learn the basics of Spanish before my next trip, so I can at least have some resemblance of conversation with my friends who do not speak English. Learning another language though is not easy. Especially when the only other life form in the house are my two dogs whose ability to understand English is limited, albeit with Border Collies, their undertanding of English vocabulary is probably greater than mine is of Spanish!!
So I will continue daily and try not to fall apart when I arrive back in Cuba. I will let you know my progress!! One site that I have come across is excellent ……… and if you at all interested in learning Spanish, check this one out – Synergy Spanish by Marcus Santamaria
